This is a diary entry from a soldier.
Bully beef needs no introduction but the army biscuit was the creation of a genius.It was about four inches square by one half thick, and perforated here and there, presumably to give breathing space to the weevils that boarded and lodged in so many of them. It was so hard that the strongest teeth gave up the unequal struggle...when speaking of war atrocities, don't fail to include the army biscuit ration.
